OUR TABLETOPS MADE OF RECLAIMED OAK WOOD
Sustainability and the conservation of resources are more important today than ever before. Reducing or, even better, completely avoiding waste plays a key role in this. The easiest way to achieve this is by processing and reusing old building materials. What was once commonplace has only recently become trendy again under the name upcycling.

Fortunately! Because the result is charming one-of-a-kind pieces with individual character. With our tabletops made of reclaimed oak, you not only help protect the environment, but also receive an exclusive piece of furniture that becomes a true eye-catcher in any room and exudes unmistakable warmth and comfort.
WHERE DOES OUR RECLAIMED OAK COME FROM?

Reclaimed oak is an upcycling material for which no trees are felled. The wood has already lived a long life before being transformed into unique tabletops in our workshop. Reclaimed oak is sourced from old wooden structures such as barns, stables, or timber-framed houses.
When these buildings are dismantled, boards, planks, and beams remain — crafted by skilled artisans a hundred years ago or more, often in painstaking manual labor. Far too valuable to be thrown away! We carefully process this reclaimed wood and give it new life. In this way, it finds new purpose in the form of tabletops and other pieces of furniture.
What does upcycling mean?
Upcycling, like recycling, aims to avoid as much waste as possible. The difference is that in recycling, the original product is destroyed to recover and reuse valuable materials. In upcycling, however, a transformation takes place. Old sailcloth becomes modern shoulder bags, beverage cartons become wallets — and reclaimed wood becomes new furniture.
THIS IS HOW OUR RECLAIMED WOOD TABLETOPS ARE MADE
The new life of our reclaimed wood tabletops begins with the dismantling of the oak wood at its original location. In our workshop, we then carefully prepare the wood. Since it served as building material, it was often exposed to environmental influences, is dirty, painted, or otherwise damaged. Depending on how old the wood is, what it was used for, or exactly where it was installed, its condition is always a little different. So first, we sort the material and determine what needs to be done.
The boards are then cleaned and freed from nails. As traces of a long life, cracks are often found in the wood – a defining feature of its charm. These and other flawed areas are only repaired as far as necessary to create a flat surface. In this way, we preserve the interesting patina, which is ultimately the special appeal of this material.
Next, we cut the boards to the appropriate size and glue them together into a tabletop according to your desired dimensions. We pay close attention to a consistent grain pattern and a visually pleasing look. This gives each reclaimed wood tabletop its unique character, making it a true one-of-a-kind piece.
Once we’re satisfied with this step, the tabletop is sanded and finally treated with oil or clear varnish. This preserves its beauty for a long time, so you can enjoy your reclaimed wood table for years to come.
THE SPECIAL CHARACTER OF RECLAIMED WOOD TABLETOPS

With a reclaimed wood tabletop in your living or workspace, you're not only enhancing your interior — you're creating a focal point with personality. Reclaimed oak is an outstanding material that combines natural charm with historical character. It forms the foundation for functional pieces of furniture that are both decorative elements and works of art.
Every crack in the tabletop tells its own fascinating story — one that you now become a part of. This incomparable patina is created only through years of exposure to wind, sun, and rain and cannot be artificially replicated. At the same time, reclaimed wood radiates a special sense of warmth and coziness.
The Advantages of Reclaimed Wood Tables
Reclaimed wood tables impress with a unique look that is difficult to replicate using other materials. Added to this is the historical flair that enhances the atmosphere of any room and inspires the imagination. The conservation of natural resources is another important advantage — after all, no trees need to be felled for this form of upcycling.
The Disadvantages of Reclaimed Wood Tables
Depending on how old the wood is and where it was previously used, it can sometimes show significant dirt and damage. Infestations, moisture, or excessive dryness may also result in the wood ultimately proving unusable. Therefore, a considerable amount of work is required to ensure that only high-quality material is used in your table.
CUSTOM-MADE RECLAIMED WOOD TABLES
