IT’S A GOOD THING WE’VE BEEN MOVING WITH THE TIMES FOR 150 YEARS

At the foot of the Schlossberg in Thüngen, where the old castle mill once stood, our story begins. In 1875, our family established the "Schneidmühle zu Thüngen" right here.

In the summer of that same year, the first oak log from the Gramschatzer Forest was delivered and cut in the sash saw – powered by the waters of the mill stream.

Back then, the logs were still transported by horse-drawn wagons. Each trunk represented a piece of the future, processed with care and dedication.

Much has happened since. What began as a small mill has grown into a family-run timber business passed down through generations – today known as Hugo Kämpf. What remains unchanged is our passion for oak and our commitment to the highest quality.

The company has been family-owned since the very beginning.

We specialized in oak from local forests early on. This regional connection remains a key part of our identity today. Only selected, high-quality logs make their way to our mill in Thüngen.

We continuously develop our product range – in close collaboration with architects, designers, and creative minds. This results in custom solutions for modern wood architecture, premium interior design, and certified construction projects. Of course, we also offer FSC® 100% certified timber, meeting the standards of sustainable building practices.

It’s a good thing we’ve been moving with the times for 150 years.
Even better that we’ve stayed true to our roots along the way.
