European oaks are felled in winter to ensure optimal color. The selected logs are carefully sorted for the best yield and then processed into a variety of sawn timber.

From Tree to Table – A large oak from the Spessart grows for several hundred years before the trunk measures more than one meter in diameter. Of course, it also takes love, creativity, and many years of experience to bring these tree giants back to life in the form of new live-edge tabletops.

For over 100 years, this old craft of smoked oak has been known. In traditional craftsmanship, tannin-containing woods were superficially darkened by the application of sal ammoniac. Today's vacuum processes allow us to guarantee this brilliant dark color right into the wood core.
